Unit for the Study of Domestic Violence and Crime Against the Elderly

The Unit for the Study of Domestic Violence and Crimes Against the Elderly seeks to identify and prevent violence committed against older adults.

The Weill Medical College of Cornell University's Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology is internationally renown for its expertise in the field of elder abuse and neglect. Unit Director and Co-Chief of the Division of Geriatrics Medicine Mark S. Lachs, M.D., M.P.H. has conducted numerous studies on risk factors for abuse, its natural history, and outcomes of mistreatment.
