The ACE Unit

Cornell Geratrics Students

The Acute Care for the Elders (ACE) Unit on Greenberg 10 North at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is a special elder-friendly unit that thrives on teamwork. The environment is designed to be warm and healing, with artwork on the walls and a large day area for patients and families to spend time together. Through the Hospital Elder Life Program, volunteers help patients remain active and engaged.

On the unit, the geriatrics attending, house staff team, dietician, social worker, and therapists work with the nursing staff to provide care geared towards the special needs of the geriatric population. Maintaining a holistic perspective, they assess each patient's medical and psychosocial needs to achieve the best possible outcome.
